a phrase, then use the first or last letter of each word in the phrase,
include numbers anyplace. use this for a password that is very tough to
break.
2. use a
good firewall - i like kerio.
3. use a
good anti-virus and keep it updated
4. don't
reply to spam or phishing mail, or go to their links.
5. never
give out private info to those you don't know. this applies offline too.
6. if purchasing
online, be sure you have checked for the validity of the site certificate,
and it's an ssl page (lock shows as locked, address begins with https)
7. be sure
your site is on a secure server.
8. be sure
your mail server is secure.
9. don't
use an administrator account unless required to accomplish a particular
function.
10. encrypt
sensitive files
if in doubt,
don't do it.
